THAT'S RIGHT, HOLD STILL
Berlin, 1994, around the time a passing interest in photography became a passion. By day, I worked as a journalist for a Czech press agency, at night I would sneak into the darkroom to process and print. Something magic has been lost to digital photography. Back then, you took photos and played with them in your memory until the film was developed. I was always anxious scouring negs: was the aperture right, was there sun-flare, did the subject blink at the last second? Nothing spoiled pics like a blink - which made this pair pretty reliable.
